Congratulations to the FCTUC Professor, Alberto Cardoso, awarded with the "International Engineering Educator Honoris Causa" title by the International Society for Engineering Education. Dr. Cardoso is the first Portuguese to receive this distinction.
From the 17 to 21 October the Social Services of the UC will promote the monitoring of food waste in canteens by placing scales to weigh waste. The action, in the framework of the campaign "Less=More" aims to make the university community aware of sustainable eating habits. This campaign is among the finalists for the Food & Nutrition Awards prize in the category "Food Sustainability". October 18 marks the European Day Against Human Trafficking. Within this context, the Research Group "Europeísmo, Atlanticidade e Mundialização" of CEIS20 and the Legal Institute of the Faculty of Law will host a colloquium on the topic. The event starts at 2pm at St. Peter's Hall (General Library). “Praxe e Tradições Académicas” is the latest book by Elísio Estanque. The book launch and debate will take place on 19 October, at Café Santa Cruz. The "International Labour Conference (ILC): simulation in higher education environment" will take place on October 20, at 9 am and will be broadcast live at uc.pt. This event takes place every year in one of the member States of the International Labour Organization. On the 27 and 28 October, the Centre for History of Society and Culture of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities will pay tribute to Maria Helena da Cruz Coelho with the debate "Medieval Portugal". The session will be attended by FLUC faculty and researchers, among other members from Portuguese and foreign universities. If you have always wanted to work on the radio, the Radio station of the University of Coimbra (RUC) has registrations open until November 4 for the courses of Voiceover Director, Information and Broadcasting technology. Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN) will host a session on 18 October about opportunities in the transport area, in the framework of Horizon 2020. The initiative is aimed at all potential candidates or candidates to H2020 funding for R&D activities in the transport field. |
