Two research projects of the University of Coimbra in the area of diabetes were distinguished by Infarmed (National Authority of Medicines and Health Products) with the "Fund for Health Research", with a total of 230,000 euros to be used in the two winning projects. Congratulations to Catarina Lima Fernandes, student of the Faculty of Humanities of the UC for having won the 2016 edition of the Adriano Lucas Journalism Award with the article "Ilhéus em Coimbra". The jury also awarded two honourable mentions to the works "Olhos que Mentem", by Pedro Morgado, and "Caricatura de Coimbra", by Patrícia da Cruz Almeida. The Science Museum hosts today at 4pm the launch of the book "Jesuits, Builders of Globalization" | "Jesuítas, Construtores da Globalização", by José Eduardo Franco and Carlos Fiolhais. The session is part of the Cycle "Culture, Science, Cult". Today, at 9 pm, the Solidarity Concert by the former Orpheon members will be held in the Great Hall of Acts, with the special participation of the tenor Nuno Silva. The event closes the commemorations of the 50th anniversary of SASUC and the revenue reverts in full to the Solidarity Fund. Adriana Calcanhotto will be back to Coimbra next year . On February 4 the Brazilian singer returns to TAGV with the show "Das Rosas", with Arthur Nestrovski. This is the repetition of the concert created by Adriana Calcanhotto for the closing of the celebrations of the 725 years of the University of Coimbra. Tickets are now on sale at TAGV and online.
