Season's Greetings!

A study by the Centre for Neuroscience and Biology of the University of Coimbra shows that the Alzheimer disease presents an abnormal production of messenger molecules, which may compromise energy production in the brain.

The application deadline for the Startup Voucher Program has been extended until December 30. Startup Voucher is one of the measures of the StartUp Portugal Program that aims to promote the development of innovative business projects ideas that are still in a seed stage. More information here.

Have you already seen the Christmas tree of the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra? This year's tree is a Yew and was chosen for being an endangered species. Enjoy the sunny days, take a stroll through the Garden and visit the Christmas tree.

Christmas break brings many activities for children at the UC: at the Exploratório Centro Ciência Viva (for children aged 6 to 12) and at the Science Museum (for children aged 6 to 10).
