Alexandre Jesus and Tomé Bandeira, masters' students at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC), were distinguished in the "Student Simulation Competition", a worldwide student competition promoted by Simio, an American company specialized in simulation and programming tools for industry and services. The Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC) will host the international congress “Transforming Capitalism with Real Utopias: Around the legacy of Erik Olin Wright”, next Thursday and Friday, 23 and 24. The event, promoted by the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC), will serve as a tribute to the American neo-Marxist sociologist Erik Olin Wright, who died exactly one year ago (on 23 January 2019).
Study concludes that not all deltas identified on Mars are true: A study led by David Vaz, from the University of Coimbra (UC), and Gaetano Di Achille, from the Italian National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF), presents new data for the debate on the climatic, hydrogeological and astrobiological implications of delta sedimentary deposits on Mars.
The Campus 2030 project is co-organized by the UN and the French Francophone Agency (AFF) in the scope of the 2030 Agenda 2030. Participants are asked to present an idea to make university campuses more sustainable. The idea should take into account three Sustainable Development Goals and fall into one of the following categories: Students' Living Conditions; Campus in the City; New Educational Challenges; Digitalisation.
