The UC longest week is about to end. Tomorrow do not miss “(Re)Tocando o Jazz: A Caminho das Últimas Notas da Semana Cultural” by Big Band Rags, by the Tuna Académica da Universidade de Coimbra  (TAUC) starting at 6 p.m., in the Cloister of the College of Arts. The event counts with the participation of the  UC partners that promise several surprises. 

The University of Coimbra obtained the Unesco Chair "Intercultural Dialogue in Heritage of Portuguese Influence". The new chair will have as its main lines of action research advanced training and development cooperation within the so-called living heritage - the Landscape and the Language.

Science will be on the streets with activities promoted by researchers of the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC) of the University of Coimbra (UC). The science communication on the street initiative, called "Brain Buskers", will promote actions once a month, beginning on April 28, at 10 a.m., at Café Santa Cruz and throughout the downtown area of Coimbra, where people will be able to interact with scientists and perform various hands-on activities in areas such as neurosciences, cell biology and microbiology.

Next Saturday, the Faculty of Economics holds the conference “Contabilidade, Fiscalidade e Direito Societário: Reflexões e Inquietudes as a tribute to the economist and jurist Ana Maria Rodrigues, who died on January 19. The event will be attended by the Minister of Public Administration and Administrative Modernization , Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, and begins at 10 a.m. in the FEUC Auditorium.

“Existir para Ninguém Desistir” is the motto of the Solidarity Fund that celebrates this year eight years of existence. To mark the anniversary, the €1 Book Fair will take place until May 3. The Fund is an initiative that promotes finantial aid to students with economic difficulties during their studies.

On Saturday, the live music of Cordis  will merge with the interpretation of choreographed pieces in the show "Cordis Bailado". It premieres at 9.30 pm at TAGV. Tickets are now available at TAGV and online.

On May 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Electoral General Assembly of the House of the Casa do Pessoal da Universidade de Coimbra will elect the management bodies for the next biennium.

The UC is recruiting two students to take part in the Tsinghua-Santander World Challenges of 21st Century Programme in China. Students from all over the world are invited to create creative and innovative solutions to meet  sustainability challenges in cities.
