The "university bank" of the University of Coimbra has already lent more than 32 million euros since it started in 2015. The innovative project developed at the UC and pioneer at national level, is not formally a bank but fulfills one of the main functions of any bank: providing credit. Through the Treasury Fund of the University of Coimbra, the 'university bank' advances funding for ongoing research projects. The Lusophone Network for Information Quality (Rede Lusófona pela Qualidade da Informação) has just been created. This network seeks to bring civil society, the media, journalists and universities together in a discussion space to contribute with solutions to improve the quality and credibility of media information within the community of Portuguese Speaking Countries. This week 30 certificates were delivered to the grantees of the various programmes of Santander Universidades managed by the University of Coimbra. The grants support mobility and are addressed to students and faculty members of the UC who undertake periods of study, teaching or research at an institution in Latin America, Spain and Portuguese-Speaking Countries. The Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology and the Institute of Clinical and Biomedical Research of Coimbra of the UC promote from Monday until the 30th November the Week of Science and Technology, with visits to schools, open laboratories, science in buses and debates in PubhD Coimbra. Registrations are mandatory (scicomm@cnc.uc.pt). Rómulo - Centro Ciência Viva of the University of Coimbra celebrates its tenth anniversary. The meeting "Science for all - science communication in Portugal" will take place on 23 November , at 10a.m. in the framework of the anniversary celebrations programme, which will be carried out throughout the academic year 2018/2019. Registrations are already open. On the 21st November SOS Estudante
will host the workshop "Ansiedade de Desempenho" (Performance Anxiety), at Centro Cultural D. Dinis. Registrations are open until next Monday. The University of Coimbra Games (Jogos Universidade de Coimbra), organized in four leagues each aimed at a specific target audience, offer the possibility of competing in ten different sport modalities. And since we are talking about sports activities, we remind you that the UC Sports Office offers the academic community a full range of sports activities: Physical Condition, Personal Defense, Canoeing, Tennis and sports for people with special needs. The UC is a co-organizer of the 3rd Congress on Quality Challenges in higher education institutions: from policies to practice, which takes place from 29 to 30 November at Coimbra Nursing School. This congress will be a space for sharing, reflection and joint work on challenges and practices for a quality-based daily life, based on the references of the Internal Quality Assurance Systems (A3ES) and the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015).
