Call for Papers  (Important Dates)

The Research Group ‘Teaching logic & argumentation’ organizes an International Colloquium with the title INSIDE ARGUMENTS–LOGIC VS ARGUMENTATION THEORY, which will take place at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra (Portugal) in 24-26 March 2011.

The aims of the colloquium are to discuss the connections between logic, in general or in any special sense of the concept, and the study of argumentation, and to take stock of the results achieved in this regard from the second half of the XXth century to our days. Systematic approaches to such connections, as well as other approaches, are welcomed.

From September 20 to December 15, 2010, the organizing committee accepts proposals of papers (only in English or in French) to be submitted to the scientific committee, and, if accepted, to be presented at the colloquium.

• Please note: only a limited number of candidates can be accepted.

The proposals must consist of

• the identification of his/her author (name, academic status, personal and/or professional address, e-mail )

• a separate document (without mention of such identification) with the title of the paper and a brief presentation of its subject-matter no longer than one page A4, TNR, 12, 1/5,

and sent to

Each candidate will be informed via e-mail of the result of his/her candidature on January 10, 2011.

If accepted as conference speaker, the author of the proposal must send to the organizing committee, via e-mail, his/her paper until March 20, 2011. The paper must be elaborated according to editorial norms which will be announced.
