From 7 July to 7 August 2025, the CECH is pleased to welcome historian Carmen Alarcón Hernández as a Visiting Researcher. She holds a PhD in Ancient History from the University of Seville (2017) and is currently a contracted postdoctoral researcher at the same university (2025–2029).
Her academic journey includes teaching at the University School of Osuna and research positions at Pablo de Olavide University. She has undertaken research stays at renowned institutions such as the University of Oxford, the German Archaeological Institute in Rome, and the Institute of Classical Studies in London.
Her main research explores the origin and development of the imperial cult and the divinization of the domus in the Roman Empire — especially in Hispania. She is the author/editor of several scientific publications and an active contributor to international conferences and projects focused on Roman religion, imperial discourse, and historiographical approaches.
