Life Sciences Archive | Special Anthropology 1885-2025 | October, 2025
The Institute of Anthropology began publishing Contributions to the Study of Portuguese Anthropology in 1914, with articles up to volume 6 (1959) issued as offprints from the Journal of the University of Coimbra and the Journal of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Coimbra. The publication had an irregular periodicity and ended with volume 11, no. 1, in 1982.
It was continued by Antropologia Portuguesa, published annually, whose first volume appeared in 1984, but referred to the year 1983.
The century-old Antropologia Portuguesa is one of the oldest anthropology journals in Portugal.
