| The Sports Gala of the University of Coimbra honours student-athletes of the UC. This year, the main Award was delivered to the Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education of the UC. The event also delivered the UC Sports Merit Awards of the 2020/21 sports season to many UC athletes, and symbolically distinguished the five student-athletes who participated in the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. | |
| UC Teacher has a new design and new features in a unique tool to support face-to-face and online teaching. The teaching support platform of the University of Coimbra returns this academic year with a renewed interface. For a better knowledge of the new functionalities, the UC will promote online training sessions, using the UC Meetings platform. | |
| Study reveals new data about Jurassic carnivorous dinosaurs’ footprints in Portugal. A study including UC researchers has just been published in the scientific journal "Palaeoworld", describing the discovery of new footprints of Jurassic carnivorous dinosaurs in Cabo Mondego (centre Portugal), revealing the surroundings and ways of life of these animals. | |
| Sixty years of Academic Theatre celebrated with a future-oriented program. Founded in 1961, the Gil Vicente Academic Theatre (TAGV) celebrates the date with a program from the 17th of September until the end of this year.You may find the full program here. | |
| Paulo Bernardino, organist in charge of St Michael's Chapel at the University of Coimbra will compose a Christmas Cantata in tribute to António Arnaut, the "father" of the National Health Service. The work is inspired by the book "O Pássaro Azul - Contos e Poemas de Natal", and should premiere in 2022. |
