The University of Coimbra continues to score points in the international university rankings. We ranked 407 in the top 500 of the prestigious QS World University Rankings, thus improving our performance compared to the previous edition in four of the six indicators evaluated. In the indicator "International Students", the UC is the best Portuguese institution and is among the 275 best in the world!

Also in the 2018 edition of the U-Multirank, the UC achieved the highest rating - very good - in several areas. We are the Portuguese teaching institution with the highest number of maximum ratings in the indicators evaluated. U-Multirank evaluates 1,614 institutions from 95 countries.

Tomorrow, scientist Enrique Cadena will be awarded  the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Coimbra after a proposal by the Faculty of Pharmacy. The ceremony takes place in the Sala dos Atos Grandes (Sala dos Capelos), at 10:30 am and will be broadcast live at uc.pt.

The Broteriana Society, with the support of the Centre for Functional Ecology and the Life Sciences Department of FCTUC, will promote a botanical expedition in the peri-urban area of Coimbra next Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration is open until Saturday. The event is part of the commemoration of the centenary of the retirement of Júlio Henriques, Botany Professor at the University of Coimbra.

The Faculty of Economics of UC has created an advanced training course on China's relationship with Portuguese-speaking Countries. The objective is to explain the functioning of the political, legal and business culture systems of these territories and their relationship with each other. More information available here.

In the scope of the Interuniversity Doctorate in Educational Psychology of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the UC and the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon, a study is being conducted about the well-being and positive experiences of young adults in the transition to the the job market. If you are over 18, attending a higher education degree or have completed your degree less than a year ago, please respond to this survey.
