The Minister of Culture will visit Coimbra today in the framework of the 18th Cultural Week. At 4:30 pm he will be interviewed on books and writers at the Faculty of Humanities and at 6 pm he will be at the College of Arts for the presentation of a new edition of Os Lusíadas. At 10 pm he will be at the opening of the exhibition  “The Heart of Science” , at the Centre for Visual Arts (CAV).

The Strategic and Action Plan for 2015-2019 was unanimously approved by the General Council, after a thorough discussion and integration of the contributions received. The principles, goals and the indicators mentioned in the Strategic and Action Plan have been reinforced by the presentation to the General Council of the Action Plans aimed at achieving the strategic initiatives of the University (Organic units, Cultural Extension and Training Support Units, Social Services and Administration).

“Particles: from the Higgs boson to dark matter” is the title of the exhibition about the great challenges of particle physics for the upcoming decades, which will be opened on April 5 at 5 pm at the College of Jesus of the UC Science Museum.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the UC European Association of Law and Economics and marking Europe's Day are the goals of the International Congress of European Studies: Contemporary Challenges in Europe, which will take place from 5 to 7 May in Coimbra. Registrations are open.

The Joanine Library will host a conversation with the Cardinal D. Manuel Clemente, focusing on the recent ecological encyclical "Laudato Si '" by Pope Francis. The event called "Dialogues at the Joanine Library" wil be held on April 7, Thursday, at 9 pm. Free entrance.

“Portugal, Meu Remorso”  is a play that brings poetry and the work of Alexandre O'Neill to Gil Vicente Theatre Hall (TAGV), starring Ana Nave and João Reis. The play takes the audience in a journey through contemporary Portugal. Tomorrow, at 9:30 pm. 

A team of researchers of the Centre for Neurosciences and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra has revealed that the “ubiquitin” organises the proteins that allow neurons to exchange information. The 4-year-study was published in the Journal Of Cell Biology.
