João Pedro Luís obtained a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2014, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra. He then worked, for almost two years, in the Pharmaceutical Industry area, specifically as a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Specialist. At that time, he joined Centro de Química Estrutural, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, to undergo a research internship focused on pharmaceutical co-crystals. In 2016 he was accepted in the Medicinal Chemistry PhD Programme, MedChemTrain, involving the Universities of Coimbra and Lisbon, in consortium with Bial, Bluepharma and Hovione. Currently, he holds a PhD grant in a project supervised by Prof. Rui Brito and co-supervised by Carlos J. V. Simões and Dora Brites (iMed.Lisboa), applying structural and computational biology methodologies to design modulators of neuroinflammation.
