PURPOSE OF THE WCVR:
The Welcome Centre for Visiting Researchers is a service of the International Relations Division. Its primary objective is to support researchers who come to the University of Coimbra for a period of scientific research under the guidance of a supervisor from this institution.
Researchers registered at the Welcome Centre for Visiting Researchers have access to various services and relevant information so that they may take advantage of the UC's facilities and make the most of their stay in Coimbra.
Framework for Visiting Researchers:
- Have an acceptance document issued by the scientific supervisor at the University of Coimbra;
- Do not qualify for mobility under an Interinstitutional Agreement (Erasmus+ or other Convention Agreements);
- Are not enrolled at the University of Coimbra and not registered in Inforestudante (in other words, do not have student status at the UC);
- Are not covered by the University's academic insurance.

Visiting researchers must secure their own insurance (for work accidents or civil liabilities) during the research period.
