EfS initiative on the Energy Day

On 29 May 2025, the University of Coimbra's Energy for Sustainability Initiative (EfS) took part in the National Energy Day event organised by Coimbra City Council at the Convento São Francisco.

EfS coordinator Prof Manuel Gameiro da Silva presented the initiative's mission and activities, highlighting the University's commitment to the energy transition and sustainability.

This was followed by the presentation of various research projects developed by units of the University of Coimbra: 

INESCC - Institute of Systems Engineering and Computers of Coimbra

ITeCons - Institute of Research and Technological Development for Construction

ADAI - Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics

ISR - Institute of Systems and Robotics

The panel ended with a dynamic and participatory debate, where the public had the opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the reflection on the role of science and technology in building a more sustainable future.

Outside, an exhibition of posters showed additional ongoing projects under the EfS scope.
