Patrícia Pereira da Silva appointed Ambassador of the ODS Portugal Alliance
Patrícia Pereira da Silva, researcher at CeBER, professor at FEUC and Pro-Rector of UC, was appointed Ambassador of the SDG Portugal Alliance, with special responsibility for promoting SDG 7 - Renewable and Accessible Energy. The ceremony, part of the conference commemorating the 8th anniversary of the ODS Portugal Alliance, took place on January 30th, in the Salão Nobre of the Ismaili Center in Lisbon.
Ambassadors are volunteers who bring together the knowledge, availability and desire to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, carrying out actions of collective interest within the organic and methodological framework of the SDG Portugal Alliance.
Organized by APEE – Portuguese Business Ethics Association and the UN Global Compact Network Portugal, the event also discussed the SDGs with a view to implementing the UN 2030 Agenda, involving Portuguese organizations as a driving force for its achievement. The event was closed by the Secretary of State for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, André Moz Caldas.
ODS Portugal Alliance
The ODS Portugal Alliance is an initiative of the Global Compact Network Portugal, the Portuguese network of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), created following the approval of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations General Assembly, with the mission of encouraging the participation of the business sector in its implementation, creating opportunities for dialogue and cooperation between different interested parties, particularly with Academia.
Consisting of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets, the UNGC and the Global Compact Network Portugal (GCNP) were mandated to organize the Business Sector's contribution to the achievement of all SDGs.
