SMART COIMBRA - Cooperation Programme between the UC and the Municipality of Coimbra

On December 12, at 11am, a public meeting to launch the SmartCoimbra Programme took place at the Main Hall of the Municipality of Coimbra, to signal the formal engagement of the city in the worldwide movement of smart cities.
The Smart Coimbra Programme, a strategy document defining the guidelines and mid-term goals of the Programme, was presented.
Mario Campolargo, Principal Scientific Officer of the European Commission, DG INFSO (Information Society), made a keynote speech on the occasion, through videoconference.
A cooperation protocol was signed between the UC and the Municipality of Coimbra, by the Rector and the President of the Municipality of Coimbra, which formalises and consolidates the more than one year cooperation already existing between the two entities towards the SmartCoimbra Programme.
