Medicine

The specific recognition of the Master’s Degree in Medicine follows what is established in the Regulation for the procedure of the Specific Recognition concerning the Integrated Cycle of Studies of the Master’s Degree in Medicine of the Portuguese Medical Schools  [Regulation no. 163/2022], , available at https://www.uc.pt/en/academicos/regulamentos/regulamentos

Scheduling of the exams / Assessment components | 2025/2026 Academic Year 

The scheduling of the exams for the 2025/2026 academic year results from the implementation of the Resolution no. 01/2025, of the Council of the  Portuguese Medical Schools of 21st May.

	Specific recognition exam – written exam	17th November 2025 at 09:30 a.m.
	Specific recognition exam – Practical /Clinical Exam	Preferably between March and April 2026 (to be indicated by each Portuguese Medical School)
	Specific recognition exam – “Submission of the Final Work of Integrated Master’s Degree”.	6 months after the the practical/clinical exam
	Specific recognition exam – “Discussion of the Final Work of Integrated Master’s Degree”.	Up to 2 months after the submission of the final work (date to be defined by the appointed examination board)

Note: 

Only applicants, whose application file was duly sent to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra until 1st September 2025 will be admitted to sit the Specific Recognition Exam (article 14 of the Regulation no. 163/2022).

Dentistry

The specific recognition of the Master’s Degree in Dentistry is ruled by what is laid down in Regulation no. 809/2021, Regulation on the Recognition Process specific to the Integrated Cycle of Studies of the Master's Degree in Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine, published in the Official Journal of the Portuguese Republic (Diário da República) on 30th August, and other legislation currently in force.

Dates of the Written Exams for Assessing Knowledge - 2025/2026 academic year

Within the scope of the recognition of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Dentistry, the Portuguese Dentistry Schools established that the written exam for assessing knowledge concerning the Specific Recognition in Dentistry will have the undermentioned scheduling:

	Specific recognition exam – written exam	27th November 2025, at  09:00 a.m.
	Specific recognition exam – “Final Work of Integrated Master’s Degree in Dentistry”.	Up to 6 months, after the successful assessment in the written exam.
	Specific recognition exam – “Discussion of the Final Work of Integrated Master’s Degree in Dentistry”.	Up to 2 months after the submission of the final work (date to be defined by the appointed examination board)

Furthermore, we inform that the applicants who meet the requirements imposed by subparagraph no.1 of article no. 20 of the Decree-Law 66/2018 and article 2 of Regulation no.  809/2021 of 30th August, and whose requests with all the documents are received at the Faculty of Medicine until 31st July 2025, will be admitted to sit the Specific Recognition Exam.
