Specific Recognition | Medicine and Dentistry

Medicine

The specific recognition of the Master’s Degree in Medicine follows what is established in the Regulation for the procedure of the Specific Recognition concerning the Integrated Cycle of Studies of the Master’s Degree in Medicine of the Portuguese Medical Schools, sent to be published on the Official Journal of the Portuguese Republic (Diário da República) (check at Announcement of the Council of Portuguese Medical Schools).

Exams dates for Specific recognition | Academic Year 2019/2020 and 2020/2021

Alternative examination period (in accordance with the Announcement of the Council of Portuguese Medical Schools of 2nd June 2020).

>> Applications whose file has been forwarded by the Universities to the Medical Schools until 12th June 2020.

Proficiency Test in Basic Communication (Portuguese Language)06/07/2020
Specific recognition exam – written exam27/07/2020

Notes:

  1. If the applicant chooses the alternative examination period, he/she cannot repeat the tests in the normal period;
  2. The dates established in the calendar in force are maintained, and it is published by means of the Announcement of 13th March 2020 – Normal Examination Period – for all applicants who do not choose to sit the exam in the alternative examination period and whose file is forwarded to the services of the Faculty of Medicine (FMUC) until 16th November 2020.
  3. The applicants must inform the Faculty of Medicine until 22nd June 2020 if they want to sit the written exams in the alternative examination period or in the normal examination period (identified in 2); assuming that the absence of a response by the applicant means that he/she will sit the exams in the normal examination period;
  4. The proficiency test in Basic Communication and the written exam are in-person exams.

NOTICE: WRITTEN EXAM GRADE ROSTER – SPECIFIC RECOGNITION

  • We inform that in order to comply with the personal data protection legislation, the final grade of the written exam concerning the Specific Recognition of the Cycle of Studies of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine will be communicated to each applicant individually by means of email message.
  • The grade roster and the exams may be consulted by the applicants, in person in their individual file.

Notice: Grade Roster of Proficiency Test in Basic Communication

Specific recognition concerning the Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine – Alternative Examination Period

We inform that in order to comply with the personal data protection legislation, the final grade of the Proficiency Test in Basic Communication will be communicated to each applicant by means of email message.

The grade roster may be consulted by the applicants, in person in their individual file.



Dentistry

The information concerning the Master’s Degree in Dentistry and Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Sciences of Oral Health may be consulted in the Memorandum of Understanding of the Portuguese Dentistry Schools after the meeting held on the 15th January 2020.

Dates of the Written Exams for Assessing Knowledge

Dentistry Schools, pursuant to subparagraph c) in no. 3 of the aforementioned Memorandum, have approved two periods for theoretical knowledge assessment (written exam for assessing knowledge) in the current civil year:

27th May 2020 (within the context of the COVID-19 Pandemic evolution in Portugal, this date has been cancelled).
11th November 2020
For applicants who would sit the exam on the 27th May – which has been cancelled – as well as applicants whose requests are forwarded to the Faculty of Medicine until 31st July 2020. Please note that the Academic Management Services only send the requests to the Faculty of Medicine after all the documents are duly submitted.

Regarding the civil year 2021, the Portuguese Dentistry Schools have approved two dates for theoretical knowledge assessment (written exam for assessing knowledge):

1st Examination phase: 26th May 2021
2nd examination phase: 10th November 2021
